Rugged Tread Design. The tread pattern on the Trail Grappler has been engineered to reduce highway road noise by 36% over the Mud Grappler from Nitto. The tread design balances voids and tread blocks, which contribute to the quiet ride while still evacuating mud and dirt from the tread. Stone ejector tabs also help to keep the contact patch clean, and unique 3-D tapered grooves on the edge of the tread blocks increase traction on the trail.

Superior Traction. On the road, twin steel belts provide a smooth ride and enhance tread life. Nitto balances tread blocks with voids to enhance both off-road performance and on-road comfort. Deep center siping helps resist hydroplaning, and a deep "Z" groove down the center of the tire provides lateral stability and increases traction in rain, and mud. The voids and the chiseled shoulders also help to keep mud and rocks from sticking in the tire.
