I am adding a 2.5" Rough Country lift kit w/shocks to my 2017 wrangler. What size rim and tire do you recommend.

MichaelA

  • With a 2.5" lift you can fit up to a 35 inch tire. However, wheel size comes down to personal preference and usage.

I am upgrading a 2012 JKU Sahara. I plan on having at least a 2.5" or higher Teraflex lift. I am trying to figure out wheels tires. I plan on adding 35x2.5xTBD tires. I also plan on adding an aftermarket big brake kit (likely Teraflex as well). Will the Mammoth Boulder Beadlock Style 16x8 wheels with a 35x12.5 tire allow for a big brake kit?

GaryR

  • I would recommend looking into a 17" wheel, as a big brake kit like this Teraflex kit: Item - J17287 https://www.extremeterrain.com/teraflex-big-brake-kit-with-jk-4303420.html would require a 17" wheel or higher to clear the calipers. We do have these same wheels in a 17x9: https://www.extremeterrain.com/mammoth-boulder-bl-blk-17-9-J100635.html Item number J100635. The 17" inch wheels would fit great!

    Almost perfect

One of the rims came with a dent on the edge of the bead lock area tire side , box was intact and not damaged , not enough to return , they will get more dings, also the black inserts around the bead lock surface on one of the rims stick out more than the other four rims about 1/8 inch, the tire shop pointed it out because the tire machine rubbed on them while installing the tire only on that rim , tried to tap them in but didn't move. Overall rims are true and balanced very well and the finish is perfect I'm happy and would buy again.

    Perfect look

One of the best order experiences I have had in a long time. The wheels were ship quickly and looked great when they arrived. The Mammoth Beadlock style in black looks great on my Hydro Blue JKU, mounted with a set of TOYO 285-70-17 tires. These have the perfect backspacing to mount without any lift required.

    Great addition to my JK

One of the few wheels on the market with a black finish and machined lip. Looks great on my Rock Lobster JK with 285 duratracs. Fit beautifully and no lift or spacer required even with the bigger tires. So far, I couldn't be happier

Review from Mammoth Boulder Beadlock Style Black Wheel - 16x8 (07-18 Wrangler JK)

    Dope Wheels

Ordered these with Mickey Thompson Baja ATZP3 285/75R/16. Look Great. Got 16 inch wheels to make the 33s look beefier and it did the trick. They came mounted already and haven't had any issues after multiple road trips. My only gripe is I ordered tpms sensors with my tire package and they forgot to install them. I had to go to a shop for them to test the sensors and have them print a form out saying they weren't located. I emailed that to extreme terrain and they mailed me the sensors free of charge. Extreme terrain also will cover the cost of the shop installing the sensors for me. So great customer service by extreme terrain shout out to Ricky for the help.

Great Look w/ 2.5 Coil Spring Lift 35 Inch Tires

Wheels and tires look great. Added Goodyear 315/70R17 Duratracs to make the set. Mammoth kept it simple with the design. It not only looks good, but should be easy to clean with no hard to reach areas. One rim out of the five ordered had a very small dent. Extreme Terrain took it right back and shipped out another one. As soon as I gave it to UPS with Extreme Terrain's shipper information, Extreme Terrain sent out the new one before the damaged one was received by them. In the end, it was a spare so it really did not keep the vehicle from being driven.

Awesome wheels at a fraction of the cost. Been off-roading the past few weekends and the wheels have held up great. The offset and 35 in Mickey Thompson MTZ tires protect the wheel from rock rash. They also look great. Paired with the rough country 3.5in lift there isnt much that can stand in your way!

Review from Mammoth Boulder Beadlock Style Black Wheel - 16x8 (07-18 Wrangler JK)

    Smittybilt SRC Rear Bumper

The bumper is very solid and finish is great. I like thle fact thay it has a hitch and it is tow rated. It also has a spot for wiring to attach. As many have said, the instruction are useless, but if you are mechanically minded you will do fine. The lights are simple and bright. I hooked them directly to the back up lights. The downside is that a 35" tire will not fit without a spacer on the spare attatchment point on the tailgate. It would br nicr to see that noted somewhere. Overall a quality bumper.
