      Video Review & Installation

Hi, guys. So today we're checking out the LED Projector Headlights with the Black Housing and the Clear Lens, fitting all 2020 and newer Gladiator JTs. So if you're in search of some better lighting performance for the front end of your truck, and you're also looking for a more stealthy and sleek aesthetic, this set of headlights is gonna be a great option to take a look into. Now, starting off with the overall setup in the lighting performance of these headlights, this is going to include three LED projector lenses, which are going to create some better light output. So if you've noticed that you've been struggling with your factory halogens, you're looking for a little bit more out of your lighting setup, this is gonna do a really good job at that. This will create a more uniform light pattern, a brighter light out of the front end of your Wrangler. And it's also going to have a brighter color temperature which will allow for a more modernized look to the front end of your truck. Now, this is gonna come up with the low beam in the middle. It's going to kind of create a split design here, which I particularly think is going to look very good mounted up on the front of the truck. And we're gonna have a high beam, which is gonna be up at the top and down below, that is going to be again, incredibly bright. With that LED and that projector lens it's just going to help it that much more. Now, what I really like about this set is the overall setup and the styling. This is gonna kind of simulate or mimic the factory LED package. So if you have the factory halogen and you're kind of looking to go towards the styling and the aesthetic of the LED package right out of the factory, this is gonna do a really good job at that while also having that lighting performance to back it up. And not to mention, you're getting a very sleek black housing. Now, what I like about the black housing is that it's gonna create a really sleek aesthetic on the front end of the truck, but this will also have a clear lens, so it's not going to mess with any of the lighting performance. You're gonna get full visibility out of that clear lens, and that is something that I particularly like, especially out of a set of darker headlights like this option. Now, as far as pricing is concerned, these are gonna come in at roughly $850 for the set. And even though that's a premium price point in comparison to some other choices, I definitely think for the quality and the lighting performance is definitely worth it.Now in comparison to some other choices on the page, some may be set up a little bit differently in the styling as well as the overall technology of the light. Now, again, if we take a look at these, these are gonna have that projector LED, some may just have a standard LED with a standard lens and some may have an HID bulb, which is technically a halogen, even though it is a high-intensity discharge bulb. So overall, if you're a fan of the LED and you're a fan of a sleek look, this is definitely gonna be up your alley. Now, I also like the fact that this is gonna have a quality construction, but it is going to take a more simple approach in comparison to some other options that may have some extra bells and whistles as far as styling is concerned like a halo or RGB technology. Now, again, I think if you're looking for something sleek, I think if you're looking for a premium set of headlights that's going to give you that lighting performance that you're looking for, and also make a complete change in styling to the front end of your truck then this is gonna be a great option. Now, when it comes to install, I'm gonna give this a one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter. I really like the fact that these are going to be plug-and-play, and you'll see that in just a second. You're gonna need some very basic hand tools to get the job done and about an hour's worth of your time, maybe even less. So speaking of the install, let's jump into that now.The tools that I used for my install were an impact wrench, a 10-millimeter socket, and a trim removal tool. So our first step to installing our headlights is to remove our grille. We're gonna need to remove these six pop clips that are holding in the top part of our grille. I'm gonna use a trim removal tool. You can also use a flathead screwdriver. So once the clips are removed, we're gonna release the top of the grille on each side and then we can just give it a good pull forward. So our next step is to remove our headlight. There's gonna be three bolts that are holding it in. I'm gonna use a 10-millimeter socket in order to remove those. You want to make sure that you save those bolts because we will be reusing these. Then we're gonna pull the headlight out of place. And on the back, we're gonna have a plug, I'm just gonna depress that clip and pull back. Now we're gonna install our new headlight from here. Then we're gonna take our new headlight and this is gonna be plug-and-play. So all we have to do is line up the connector, make sure that we hear a click. And then we're gonna pop this into place. This is gonna have an alignment pin on it so we're gonna make sure that this is lined up to the factory mounting location. Once it is, we're gonna take our factory bolts and we can thread them into place. Once they're hand-threaded in, we're gonna take that 10-millimeter socket and tighten that up. Then we're gonna repeat that same process on the other side.So before I install the second headlight, I did want to step down and tell you guys a little bit more about them, some of the similarities and differences between our factory headlight setup and our new LED headlights on the table. Now, just as a brief overview of our factory light, we're gonna have a standard plastic housing, we're gonna have a chrome reflector on the inside, and we're gonna have a standard halogen bulb. Now all of this is gonna be great for factory performance, as well as factory styling. However, if you're looking for a step up, an LED is a great start or a great place to go.Now this option is gonna have a factory style housing. It is gonna have a pretty resilient and hardened lens on the front, which is gonna create a more durable setup. So this will be great if you're looking to take your Jeep off-road, these are definitely going to hold up on the trail. Now the big step up is with the lighting performance and the overall internals of the light itself. Now, this is going to have a nice black housing, which is gonna be a big step away from the factory chrome style that we have here, that's gonna create a more sleek and aggressive look to the front end of the Jeep and really match with any other blacked-out accessories as far as lighting is concerned when it comes to the Gladiator itself. Now this is also going to have an LED projector setup, so the projector lens and that LED is going to create some better lighting performance. It's going to output that light a lot farther down the road. It's going to create a clean, uniform light pattern. And overall, it's gonna look a lot more modernized in comparison to the factory halogen bulb. Now, when it comes to the halogen bulb, this is usually gonna have a lower color temperature, which will create a yellow, amber-ish, warm-ish hue to the headlight itself. Now when moving over to an LED like this one, this is going to have a higher color temperature which will create a bright white light, giving it a more modernized and cleaner look and a crisper look to the LED itself, and that's going to also help out in lighting performance. So overall, the lighting performance between the halogen light and the LED light is going to be drastically different. The LED is going to give you better lighting performance and overall some better styling. And what I do really like about this new headlight setup is the fact that it's going to be completely plug-and-play. You really don't have to do any wiring at all in order to get these mounted up as you saw before. So what do you say we install our second headlight? So after the headlights are fully installed, what we're gonna do is pop our grille back into place. So we just need to align the retainer clips down at the bottom and the pins up at the top. You can give it a good push. Make sure all of those retainer clips are set into place. You can take a peek down through this radiator support to make sure that they're all set in place. And then we're gonna grab our clips that we originally removed and pop these back in. After those are in, you can close up the hood and you'll be all set to go. So that's gonna wrap it up for my review and install.
