Rugged Build Quality. These tailgate insert letters feature a novel multi-layer construction with a top layer made from UV-treated clear resin for outstanding resistance to fading. Meanwhile, its middle layer is precision-cut from a high-grade carbon fiber sheet to give the letters their distinct hi-performance style. Easy Install Procedure. These tailgate letters’ aforementioned 3M automotive-grade adhesive backing makes their installation an easy peel-and-stick process. That said, it is advisable to first clean the mounting surfaces before wiping them down with a clean rag moistened with acetone or alcohol. This is to get rid of any grease or residue that could interfere with the adhesive. Additionally, it’s also advisable to heat the mounting surfaces when installing these letterings during cold weather as the adhesive is more effective on warm surfaces. You can do this with a hair dryer or heat gun.
