The BluePrint Engines Small Block Chevy 383 C.I. 375 HP Vortec Long Block Crate Engine is designed to significantly increase rear-wheel horsepower and torque for GM trucks and SUVs. It is engineered for direct replacement and compatibility with factory components without requiring ECU tuning or recalibration. This engine provides a reliable performance upgrade that retains emissions legality in 49 states.
_x000D_Construction and Appearance. Featuring a high strength cast iron block manufactured and machined in the USA, this engine includes BluePrint aluminum cylinder heads with large valves and intake runners for optimized airflow. It employs a cast crankshaft with a 3.75-inch stroke and hypereutectic pistons assembled with precision externally balanced front and rear components. The finish maintains stock appearance and fitment with OEM style components such as harmonic balancer, timing cover, valve covers, dipstick, and oil pan.
_x000D_Installation. Installation is straightforward for qualified technicians. The engine is a direct fit for specified 1996-2000 Chevrolet pickup or SUV models originally equipped with 350ci (5.7L) engines and factory EFI systems. Minor modifications may be needed for front accessory drive brackets if OEM accessories are retained, but no drilling on the block itself is required.
