Merideth: If you need to refresh your interior and add some useful storage space inside your 2020 or newer JT Gladiator, this RedRock Door Panel Storage Kit will be a great solution. Now this will be a good addition to your build if you're constantly looking around for a place to put your things that's not in the way, and you want an affordable option that's going to get the job done. Not to mention, this will be great if you want to add that storage, but don't want it to be in the way while blending into the interior looking like it came from the factory. Now as you can see, this is gonna come with four pieces in the kit that will mount into the lower portion of your door to add some additional space for smaller items like glasses, your wallet, anything else that you wanna keep track of. Now each of these are even going to offer a cup holder in all these storage panels, which I know is definitely needed especially if you are used to having a Jeep full of passengers, and always need a spot to put your drink. Now, these are also just going to do a great job of covering up the netting that tends to stretch out and hang down, which can offer a really nice refresh to the inside of the Jeep. When it comes to the construction, these will all be made of an injection molded ABS plastic material, which will be durable and really able to hold up very well for what they are. These are also gonna have a nice OEM-like texture black finish to them, which will blend very well with the rest of your interior and other OE accessories. Now each of these pieces will also have a couple of tabs on them. And these are also gonna have automotive grade 3M tape to make sure that they stay in place, and are gonna hold up for the long run. Now, these will be very affordable at roughly $75 for the entire kit. What I do like about these is that this is going to be a unique option compared to other storage solutions, while being featured on both the front and the back doors. Now, interior storage solutions usually vary with the location of the Jeep, but I like how this utilizes the door. It keeps it out of the way, and it's still going to offer you a lot of usable space, making this a great pick.Installing this is gonna be super easy at one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter, taking you about five minutes to get the job done. Now speaking of the install, one of our customers here has actually installed this on their JT, and is gonna walk you through what that process looks like step by step. So, that's gonna wrap it up for me. Let's go ahead and get into it.Man: Just a quick recap here on the tools that were used. Made sure that I had the instructions handy while I was doing it, some isopropyl alcohol, microfiber cloth, T20 Torx head screwdriver to remove the two factory screws on the front doors only, and then just a Phillips head screwdriver or drill driver to install the upper screws on the front door panels as well.I was really impressed with the instructions on this. They're very straightforward. First step says to remove this screw on the bottom of the door with a T20 Torx screwdriver. Before I do that, I'm gonna go ahead and use the isopropyl alcohol and microfiber cloth to clean the area because part of this includes two-sided tape. And I wanna make sure that I'm getting a good seal when I put it in. So, wanna give that a little bit of time to dry.All right, so I'm just gonna use some isopropyl alcohol here on the microfiber cloth. I'm just gonna clean this area. So, looking at the back of the front door panel item, you can see we've got two sides of tape here down along the bottom. And up towards the front is actually gonna be put on like this. So, you need to come up to the front here and down along here. So, we're gonna go ahead and clean that. Just wipe it off here. Make sure that you don't have any kind of dirt or residue, so we can allow that two-sided tape to adhere nice and tight. So, that should do the trick there. Now, the kit comes with two little Phillips head screws. Part of the instructions here say that once you've removed that Torx head for the bottom screw, you can optionally use one of these Phillips head screws to attach the door panel kit on the top part here, which is just a self-tapping screw, really easy to do. Just need a screwdriver. I'm gonna use my handy dandy drill driver here just to make it a little bit easier. But at this point, I'm gonna go ahead and remove the screw, and then we'll get the tape taken off and put it in place.Again, this is probably one of the easier installs that you'll do on a Jeep, but just taking this T20 screw out. It's got a nice little washer on there. So, rather than using the Phillips head that came with the kit, I'm gonna reuse that Torx head screw. All right, so my area's nice and clean. I've got the Torx head screw out. The next step says to go ahead and put this in place, and then put the screw back in. So, before I do that, of course, I gotta remove the tape or the backing off the two-sided tape. It's a little cold here today. So, I'm definitely gonna be using that second screw because I have some reservations about that two-sided tape actually holding tight without installing that second screw. So, at this point, I'm gonna get my Torx head screw and my Torx screwdriver. I'm gonna go ahead and carefully put this in place, make sure that I'm lining up that Torx head, and make sure that I've got it lined up here with the trim piece. Now I've got that in place, and we're just making sure that my holes line up on the bottom here, and I'm gonna go ahead and put this Torx head screw back in. I did check, and look at this, the screw is definitely long enough with the additional thickness of the door storage kit. By the way, very nice, heavy-duty. I can tell that this is gonna last. It feels real good. Again, I'm really stoked about putting this in.All right, so I've got it in place. And I can see that that two-sided tape is not gonna hold in this cold weather. So, I'm gonna go ahead and use one of the Phillips screws that came with the kit. And use my screw with my drill driver here. I'm just gonna put this in the top hole. And just on low speed, I'm just gonna go ahead and put this in nice and tight. And just be real careful when you get closer in there, that you're not driving it too fast. You don't wanna strip that out. All right, so, that's the install of the front piece. And we're gonna go ahead and move to the back door. All right, so now we're on the back door panel. This one does not have any two-sided tape on it. This simply uses tabs that are built into the product. So, there's no need for the isopropyl alcohol here. No need for really any hand tools, screwdriver, none of that. All we're gonna do is we're gonna work this in behind this mesh, behind this trim piece in front of the mesh, and get it snapped in there.Instructions say to use or start from the back part of the panel here and work them in. So, again, I'm just kind of twisting and turning a little bit here to kind of force those tabs underneath the trim. There we go. And we've got a couple of tabs on the bottom, and then a couple of tabs on the front. And then you'll probably hear these snap in. There we go. In, good to go. All right, so that finishes up the driver's side. This is a four-piece set. So, just gonna go over to the passenger side, put those two on. That's pretty much the same process.Merideth: So, that's gonna wrap it up for my review and the install of this RedRock Door Panel Storage Kit, fitting all 2020 and newer JT Gladiators. And remember, for all things Jeep, keep it right here at extremeterrain.com.
