Pre-Installation Instructions: Either remove the doors completely from your Jeep before the install or make sure that the doors are completely closed prior to beginning the door hinge install. Failure to completely close or remove the doors will likely result in bent hinges at the very least.
Installation Instructions:
1. Install the T-50 Star Bit onto your ratchet as your stock door and hood hinges require this size bit for removal. Note: The Rugged Ridge hinges use screws that are T-40 bit size.
2. Using the T-50 Star bit remove the two (2) stock screws from the top door hinge.
3. Replace your T-50 Star bit with the T-40 Star bit on your ratchet as the Rugged Ridge door hinges utilize the T-40 Star Bit.
4. Take one (1) Rugged Ridge door hinge and place it flush over the stock door hinge.
5. Install the two (2) Rugged Ridge door hinge screws with the T-40 bit attached to your ratchet.
6. Replace your T-40 Star bit on your ratchet with the T-50 Star Bit again and then remove the bottom door hinge.
7. Again replace your T-50 Star bit with a T-40 Star bit, place the second (2nd) Rugged Ridge door hinge flush over your bottom door hinge and install the two (2) Rugged Ridge door hinge screws with the T-40 Star bit attached to your ratchet.
8. Repeat Steps 1-6 for your other door.
9. Repeat Steps 1-6 for your hood as well. For your hood, you can remove all of the stock screws with your T-50 Star Bit and install all of the Rugged Ridge hinge covers using your T-40 Star bit so long as your hood is locked in place.
10. The new screws will come very slightly loose over the next two (2) to three (3) days so go back over all of the Rugged Ridge hinge cover screws with your T-40 Star Bit a few times over the next two(2) to three (3) days to make sure that the screws have not come loose.
