How to Install DV8 Off-Road FS-14 Hammer Forged Mid Width Front Bumper w/ Fog Lights (07-18 Wrangler JK) on your Jeep Wrangler

Notes: Some steps are optional depending on preference, future installation of light bars, and winches. It may be helpful to have a second person to assist with removal of stock bumper and placement of new bumper, but is possible without.

Installation Instructions

Removal of stock bumper

1. Remove air dam

a. Remove air dam by removing (6) plastic clips with pliers


2. Unclip wiring harness from both fog lights

a. Remove clips holding fog light wiring harness from factory bumper

b. Clips can be removed by pulling with pliers and can be re-attached to frame or cut using diagonal cutters 


3. Remove nuts from bumper mounts using 18mm socket and ratchet

a. 4 nuts per bumper mount for a total of 8

b. Pull and remove stock bumper from frame 


4. Remove frame cover

a. Using a flat head screw driver or pry bar, pry off the 2 plastic clips holding on the frame cover

b. Note: The frame cover will need to be removed for installation of this bumper. It is possible to modify this frame cover by cutting out sections using a dremel or similar cutter and re-attach the frame cover.


5. Remove fog lights from factory bumper (if applicable, if not skip step 6 and 7) using phillips screw driver (4 screws per light) 


6. Attach new fog lights using plastic fasteners

a. Place fog lights in new bumper and push plastic fasteners (4 per light) through the bumper and into the fog light holes towards the back of the bumper


7. Insert mesh grill (optional)

a. Place mesh grill into bumper

b. Attach using 2 small bolts, nuts, and washers using 11mm socket


8. Install new bumper

a. Lift the bumper to the frame, line up bolt holes and place bumper onto frame

b. Place washers and lock washers onto each side of the bumper mounted bolts (6 total) and hand thread nuts onto bolts

c. Place washers and lock washers onto separate bolts (2 total) and hand thread into holes of bumper

d. Using 3/4” socket, tighten all 6 nuts and 2 bolts to 60 ft/lbs. 


9. Reconnect fog light harness into each light


10.Enjoy the awesome new American-made heavy duty winch ready bumper!
