Description
Long Arm Upgrade. The Rough Country Suspension Long Arm Upgrade Kit enhances your Jeep Cherokee XJ and Comanche MJ’s off-road performance by relocating the front control arms to maintain correct suspension geometry. This upgrade kit is designed to provide superior articulation, improved ride quality, and increased ground clearance, specifically for vehicles equipped with 4.5-inch or 6-inch lifts, ensuring enhanced capability on challenging terrain.
Construction and Appearance. Crafted from heavy-duty materials, the kit features a 0.25-inch thick crossmember and high-clearance lower control arms for durability and reliability. The X-Flex control arms include Clevite OEM-style rubber bushings and fully greasable flex joints designed to pivot up to 20 degrees on the upper joints and 35 degrees on the lower joints, providing extended suspension travel. The finish is engineered for rugged use with an aggressive appearance.
Installation. Installation requires moderate technical skill and takes approximately 8 to 9 hours. The kit is a complete bolt-on upgrade requiring no drilling, simplifying the process for experienced installers.
Application. This kit fits 1984 to 2001 Jeep Cherokee XJ and 1986 to 1992 Jeep Comanche MJ 4WD models equipped with 2.5L or 4.0L engines, excluding those with Peugeot manual transmissions. It does not fit models with AX5 transmissions, 2.8L V-6 or diesel engines, or 1987 to 1989 models with Peugeot manual transmissions.
