Description
Innovative Winch Rope Shackle Mount. The Factor 55 Flat Splicer for Synthetic Winch Lines is a pioneering splice-on folding winch rope shackle mount thimble that offers advanced protection and functionality. Engineered to replace conventional winch hooks, it provides a safer and more secure connection for synthetic winch lines, enhancing off-road recovery operations. Its unique design eliminates rope exposure, preserving rope life and vehicle approach angle.
Construction and Appearance. Crafted from lightweight, precision CNC machined 6000 series military grade aluminum, the mount features a durable Mil-Spec hard anodized finish that enhances corrosion resistance. Integrated EPDM rubber pads protect the winch fairlead and rope during use, while the flat-folding design minimizes frontal vehicle protrusion. The innovative rope path is engineered to shield the synthetic rope from impact and UV damage effectively.
Installation. Installation requires synthetic rope splicing knowledge, such as the locking Brummel splice or long bury splice, and is suitable for users familiar with synthetic winch rope splicing. No drilling or permanent modifications are necessary; the mount integrates directly onto the rope end.
Fitment and Application. Fits synthetic winch ropes up to ½ inch diameter and accommodates the pin and bow sections of common ¾ inch shackles, as well as pin ends of larger 7/8 inch shackles. Designed specifically for synthetic winch rope only.
