Description
Innovative Splice-On Thimble. The Factor 55 Splicer Shackle Mount; Red enhances the safety and reliability of synthetic winch ropes by replacing traditional hooks with a secure shackle mounting thimble. It features advanced rope protection and UV resistance, making it ideal for off-road recovery applications. Proper synthetic rope splicing knowledge is required to attach it securely to the winch rope, ensuring a reliable connection for safe recovery operations.
Construction and Appearance. Manufactured from precision CNC machined 6000 series military-grade aluminum, this shackle mount offers durable yet lightweight construction. It includes an integrated EPDM rubber pad for fairlead protection and is finished with military specification hard anodizing or high-quality powder coat for enhanced corrosion resistance and durability.
Installation. Installation requires synthetic rope splicing skills but does not require drilling or permanent modifications to the vehicle. Users must splice the shackle mount directly onto the synthetic winch rope using recommended splices like locking Brummel splice or long bury splice for a secure fit.
