Description
Advanced Safety Monitoring. The Radar Blind Spot System with Cross Traffic Detection enhances driver awareness by detecting vehicles in adjacent lanes and cross traffic at the rear. It reduces blind spots and potential collisions by alerting drivers to surrounding traffic during lane changes and reversing. This system improves driver confidence and safety in complex traffic environments.
Construction and Appearance. The system features high-frequency 76GHz–77GHz radar sensors designed for durability and precision, housed in waterproof IP69-rated casings suitable for mounting behind rear plastic fascias. The main harness measures 21 feet in length, with an additional 6.5-foot rear sensor harness. The human-machine interface (HMI) is equipped with amber warning lights and black trim, requiring drill-in mounting. The buzzer provides loud, adjustable audible alerts and can be mounted using 3M tape or screws.
Installation. Installation involves mounting sensors behind plastic bumpers utilizing external brackets and screws, with drill-in mounting required for the HMI placement. While generally straightforward for professionals, the system is not compatible with metal bumpers and some adaptation may be necessary based on vehicle type.
