The whole key to maintaining the steering of your YJ is to keep all the components in good condition, and replacing them when they begin wearing out. Your steering linkage adds strength and durability to your components as well as providing a comfortable ride, even on the most rugged of off-roads. The ball joints connect the steering knuckle to your axle. Worn ball joints cause sloppy steering. We want your Jeep YJ steering linkage and ball joints to remain in top condition so you can get the most pleasure out of your off road experience. Sloppy steering means you could end up with an out of control vehicle, and when you are in extreme terrain, you need every bit of control your YJ will give.
