Big off-road tires need hefty wheels to support them, and 1987-1995 Wrangler Jeep YJ 22-inch wheels are large enough to handle even the most massive tires you’re likely to use to take on a heap of boulders or other trail obstacle. These wheels are 14” wide, allowing the mounting of very large tires
, and can be attached to Wranglers from either the YJ or TJ generations (1987-2006). Fabricated out of aluminum alloy, generally made in a one-piece cast configuration, they offer less rotational resistance than “steelies,” improving the nimbleness and responsiveness of your vehicle in all situations. They’re also fully rust-proof and almost always come protected by a limited lifetime structural warranty from the manufacturer. Several high quality companies make Wrangler wheels in a 22” diameter, and many of these are very striking in appearance, creating an exciting customized look as well as performing their wheel supporting duties faithfully. These sculptural components feature a range of aggressive, handsome spoke layouts, including multiangled geometrical spokes and slanting, whorled setups. Coatings include highly polished triple-plated chrome, but most have a tough looking black finish, frequently highlighted by shining, machined areas along the lip, the edges of the spokes, or the entire spoke face.
