I'm Ryan from extremeterrain.com and this is my review and installation of the Strike Force Zebra Cargo Vault Storage Box fitting all 2007 and up JKs. Today we're gonna talk through the installation of this box which I am going to give a two out of three wrenches. This is designed to be drilled and vaulted into your jeep. Of course, you could just toss it in there but you're not going to get the same security from doing that. We'll talk a little bit more about the installation in just a second. We're also gonna talk through the construction and a few of the features of the storage box. This storage box is for those of you who want to add some organization and some security to the cargo area of your two-door or your four-door JK. This is designed to be vaulted down to the floor or more commonly vaulted to the inside of the tailgate giving you that additional organization. Now, you're not really gaining a lot of space with this storage box, however, you are going to get that additional security that you wouldn't have if you were to just toss some cargo in the trunk area of your jeep. Now, there are other storage solutions like big, metal hinge lids that will give you even more security and more space than this option will, however, you're not going to be able to carry large or tall objects with that lid in place. So it is a little bit of a balance. Depends on what you want to be able to carry, what you want to be able to secure, and how much money you want to spend. This option is going to be a plastic box with a metal door and it is going to be less expensive than those much larger security vaults. This is a very simple storage vault. It's going to be an injection molded box with a diamond plate door on the front. The door is held on with a piano hinge and it has a very simple lock, and they supply you with the two keys. Up on top here you do have some cup holders molded into the top of the box for a little bit of additional functionality. And as they say, locks only keep out the honest people. This is going to do a nice job of keeping things secure. But if somebody really wants to get into this, because it is plastic, they are going to be able to get in. As I said before, if you're looking for something even more secure, there are some steel options that will give you a much larger lockable trunk that are going to be a little bit more secure. This is going to be something that is gonna provide more security than just throwing things in the trunk area, but it's not going to be iron clad. Like I said before, I'm gonna give this a two out of three wrenches for install because there is a little bit of drilling to do but it's still not something that's going to take you a ton of time, probably around an hour, maybe a little bit more. The most common spots to mount this is going to be on the inside of your tailgate. Now, if you already have a big heavy spare on there, you're not going to want to add a ton of weight so you might consider mounting it through the floor in the cargo area if you already have a big spare on your tailgate. Either way, it's just a matter of setting this in position wherever you decide you want it and drilling some holes through the box and through either the floor or the tailgate. Once you have those holes drilled, you can use the included hardware which does come as a nutserts. Install the nutserts into the body with a tailgate and use the included hardware to bolt everything down to its new location. As I said before, you can just throw this in the cargo area of your jeep but, again, you're not going to get the security if you don't bolt this into place. As far as tools necessary to get this job done, you are going to need a drill and a good sharp drill bit. You can make your own nutsert installation tool. There are plenty of plans online to do so and it's fairly easy. However, if you have a nutsert installation tool or if you rent one, it's just gonna make installing this nutserts that much easier.

I love this thing as it keep everything from my groceries (read: beer) and items secure when theres no top on. Pretty easy install, and I have yet to have an issue with someone breaking into it or for that matter, items inside getting wet from the elements
