          4 beer project

Great carrier and worth the extra cash. If you have a small rim (16") you have to kick the bottom of the spare out(Baja fashion) to make it work. Once you move up to a grownup sized rim, you are good to go with no issues. The instructions are a bit to be desired. They seem to be photo copies of photo copies about 20 times over and refer to colors in the pictures. The entire packet is printed in black and white, hence the need for extra beers. I'm sure you can knock this out in shorter time, but it was a good few hours doing the bumper and tire carrier together. Great combo and it appears to be built to last. Let's see how it stands up in a salty, winter environment.

          Good Solid Product

I purchased this as an add on to my XHD rear bumper and it was a good choice. Not too bad of an install either. I chose not to install the light bracket to increase my rear visibility. My only issue was the the steel pin that locks the tire carrier from swinging out too far when opened snapped in half within the first week. The steel pin inst really steel, its a hollow metal casing filled with some kind of composite metal. I ended up replacing it with a long bolt from home depot. I also remove the little pin on the release lever because it seemed to get in the way more than it helped.
