Look great

These look great when going doorless. I do wish the mirror was a little bigger, but that is my preference. They do whistle when underway, but it is tolerable.

What speed are these rated for? Will the mirror move at high speeds?

CraigJ

  • The Rugged Ridge Quick Release Black Rectangular Mirrors - Pair (97-17 Wrangler TJ & JK) do not have a speed rating, but can handle higher speeds well since the are mounted on the A-pillar. They are pretty steady on at higher speeds as well, just make sure everything is tighten down properly.

can I take the mirror off the bracket and leave the bracket on the frame and still open my doors

EricP

  • Yes you can! The Rugged Ridge Quick Release Black Rectangular Mirrors - Pair (97-17 Wrangler TJ & JK) have brackets that don't stick out enough to infringe on the door radius.

What is the piece (that the metal arm and quick release screw go through) made of? I bought a pair of these mirrors elsewhere and that piece was made of plastic, which stripped after a few highway trips. Thanks !

Relaxrn

  • The bushing on the Rugged Ridge Quick Release Black Rectangular Mirrors is plastic.

I have a Barricade roof rack base. With one of the supports to the roof rack will this still work or will I need to purchase a longer screw to hold the mirror in place.

    Better than expected

2012 Wrangler, looking for some mirrors to remove the doors. Much to my surprise, the passenger side is well within view and very usable. In some reviews, it was stated they vibrate to much, mine do not. The nut's supplied, are very cheap, but I replaced them with good quality for about $1.50 at hardware store. I am very pleased with the purchase and would recommend them to any fellow Jeepers.

These are easy to install and they look good. The wind noise they create is louder than the stereo.

Quickly add mirrors when the doors are off

If I had my choice, I would have the doors off all the time. But, with the weather, I take them off and put them on often. I needed some mirrors to quickly add and remove. These do the job. I love the way they look. They do take some time to get right and to get use to them. They also whistle when you are moving. Something with the way the wind hits the back of the mirror. I notice it every time, but I usually have my radio on and that covers up the whistle noise. I would recommend, but you should know about the whistle.

    Great quick disconnect mirror

I am very impressed with these mirrors, especially considering the price. They have very little vibration while going down the highway.

Easy install - saving my Delrin door hinge liners

I had the mirrors that go in your door hinges but they were tearing up my new Delrin door liners so I needed a change. I went to these through a quote from Ryan on Wrangler forum. The install was a breeze and the instructions were super easy to follow. Can't go wrong with these.

    Quick Release Mirrors

These mirrors work well to keep you legal if your in a state that requires side mirrors at all times. The visibility obviously isn't as good as the factory but they work well enough. Installation is a breeze, like most other accessories all you need to do is break out the torx bits and ratchet. As you would expect at highway speeds the wind can push them in making them unusable so long highway trips may make it a little difficult. Overall I would defiantly recommend these mirrors to those of you who want to have your doors off on the trail and around town while staying legal.

    Great fit. Great look.

These mirrors are a must have if you're riding without doors. Installation took about 15 minutes and the for couldn't be any more perfect. Mirrors are easily adjustable and don't move while experiencing high wind. There is a bit of a whistle off of one of mine, but on top of all of the other natural noise you get from going doorless, it doesn't really matter. Overall great product for the money.

This product was easy to install. It makes up for the door mirror while I have my doors off. Very happy with these mirrors.

    Old School Mirrors

Classic "old school" look and functionality --- just reach out to fold them in to clear tight obstacles, or even back in to your narrow garage. Excellent fit and finish, super easy to install and remove when popping your factory doors back on!

    Good but noisy

These install easily and function quite well. My driver's side one seems a bit better than the passenger side one (passenger side one seems to have a ripple in the mirror wobbles a bit), but nothing I'm really worried about. My main complaint is that the assembly connecting the rod to the mirror produces a lot of noise, even at low speeds (like 25mph). It would have been great if they had made something to attach behind the mirror after you're done adjusting that's more aerodynamic and won't whistle in the wind. I might 3d-print my own part to try to eliminate the whistle.

    Convenient and practical

Love riding with the doors off, but mirrors are essential. Sticking my head out the door opening to check blind spots is not only dangerous but looks rediculous. These mirrors are extremely practical, there when you need them and fold back when you don't. Only complaint is that within a few days, I noticed some small dents on the back side of the mirrors, not sure from what, but I guess that's what you can expect from $50 mirrors.

    Better then what I expected

I have only had my quick release mirrors for a short time. As of now this is what I can say. first I was a little worried from reviews that the mirror would move at high speed and the quality might not be there. But I have been at let's say very high speed and they didn't move at all, they stayed right where I put them. The quality look to be fine I don't have any concerns about the thier build and quality.

    Very good

Put mirrors on. They work great. Just for your info, if mirrors are hard to move unloosen the screws on the back of the mirrors move freely. These are the three set screws by the ball jpint on back of mirror.

    work great

Easy install. They don't move or shift at highway speeds. Good price. Hate driving without mirrors, these were the perfect solution when my doors are off, which is nearly always.

    Mirrors

The mirrors look awesome. I like how big it is compared to the round ones. I made a good choice picking this material for my jeep. Installation is very quick and easy. It helps if you have another person to help with the view set up.
