Review & Installation Video

Review & Install Video

I'm Ryan from ExtremeTerrain.com, and this is my review of the Rugged Ridge Floor Liners fitting all 2007 to 2016 JKs. These are available as just the front, the rear passenger, or the cargo area mat, but you can also get them in a kit that will have everything that you're looking for in your Jeep. These are also available for a few different year ranges because Jeep did change the floor a little bit. And of course, they're available for your two-door or your four-door JK. Once you have all of that picked out, you can then decide between three different colors: gray, tan, or black. These are for those of you who are looking to finish off the look of the interior of their Jeep, and provide some protection to their factory carpeting. These are designed to fit really well because they're designed for your specific body style, and year range Jeep. Some floor mats are designed to fit everything from 2007 to 2016, and they don't fit quite as well as these ones are going to fit. Now, in my opinion, floor mats have always been something that were overpriced. I don't know why they cost as much as they do. But in the realm of floor mats, I think these ones are pretty fairly priced for the quality of the material and the fitment. These are made of a TPE material, which is sort of a hybrid between a plastic and a rubber, which means they're going to be flexible, but they're also going to hold up really well. They're injection molded, and they have this chevron pattern in them which is going to give you a little bit of an additional grip, but also hold mud and other spills pretty well in the mat. Something that's really important in my opinion about a floor mat is retention. You don't want the floor mat moving around on you, and certainly not bunching up under the pedals. The front mats have a couple of areas punched out in them, so they'll snap into the factory floor mat hooks on the floor. So again, they're not going to move around. The rear mats have spikes on the bottom of them to give them some retention into the carpet as well. The one thing that I'll say that I don't like about this, and if you've seen some of our other videos, something I'm not a fan of is having a large logo on any product. I don't want my Jeep to be a billboard for a brand. And the logo that are on these is a little bit too big in my opinion. You can always remove it, but then you're left with the molded oval in all of the floor mats. As far as installation goes, well, they're floor mats. You just pretty much put them into place. As I mentioned, the fronts do have a couple of cut-outs with plugs in them, and you'll have to pop the plug out for your year so that you can attach the front mats into the factory hooks that are in the factory carpeting. If this takes you more than 15 minutes to install, it took you a long time. And you won't need any tools at all, of course, they just drop into place. The only bit of modification that you may need to do when installing one of these rear cargo mats is to make a cut where your sub is. Otherwise, you won't be able to fit the cargo mat in the Jeep properly. Like I said before, I've never really understood why floor mats were quite as expensive as they are. But as far as floor mats go, I think that these ones are well built. They have nice high sides, and the chevron's built into them to hold on to messes. They're designed to fit really well, and they have a retention system which means they won't move around under your feet. If I'm going to buy a floor mat, I would definitely take a look at these Rugged Ridge ones. So if you're looking to add some protection to your interior for those trail rides when your boots get muddy, or just for on the road in snow and rainy conditions, this is a nice option for something that I think is priced fairly and well built. So that's my review of the Rugged Ridge Floor Liners fitting all 2007 to 2016 JKs that you can find right here at ExtremeTerrain.com.

Innovative Design. The Rugged Ridge All-Terrain Floor Liner with precision engineering easily molds to the contours of your vehicle's floor for a perfect fit. This floor liner features high-perimeter walls to keep the floor free from dirt, water and mud. The raised nib on the bottom ensures that the 2-door jeep floor mat stays firmly in place. Featuring deeply molded Chevron-shape tread pattern, this liner facilitates efficient channeling of trapped water and dirt. The self-sealing floor hook attachment blocks out any dirt or moisture for added protection.

Quality Construction. For lasting performance and rugged use, this Jeep Wrangler JK floor mat is made from all-weather, injected-molded, durable OE-quality Thermo-Plastic Elastomer (TPE). It removes easily for worry-free cleaning.

Compatibility. These Rugged Ridge All-Terrain Floor Liners are designed to complement the 2007-2018 Wrangler JK 2-Door models.

These mats came right on time, are sturdier than a trusted steed, and fit like a glove... Not OJ's glove. A glove that fits correctly.

how do I remove the floor mats to clean them?

MKM

  • All you would just need to do is pull the Rugged Ridge All Terrain Front & Rear Floor Liners out of your vehicle and give them a good spray down with a hose. Since they are manufactured out of Injection-Molded OE-Quality Thermoplastic Elastomer they wouldn't require too much to clean them, some soap and water should suffice.

    Good Fit but Small Warning

This is a great product to protect your JK's carpets from mud, water, etc. I do have a small warning, there is a log on the driver's side mat right in the middle. My JK is a manual and my left foot seems to rest right on the log and at times my heel gets caught on the logo as move to engage the clutch. I wish the log was out of the way, maybe close to the seat edge.

    Great slush mats

Mats are pretty great quality and look good. I would definatelynpurchase again, however the back ones do have some movement and slip a little. Maybe if they were one piece in the back like the Mopar slush mats they'd stay in place a little better.

    Perfect fit!

They fit great! I also ordered the rear cargo mat. With a little trimming for the seat latch holes it fits fairly well also. It is however a little tough to latch the rear seat down once it is installed. Overall, I am happy with it as well.

    get what you pay for

The front two mats fit very well. I just wish the driver's mat also covered under the accelerator; it is notched out and has carpeting exposed. There are multiple openings for floor anchor and caps you put into the others (to make it fit multiple models). The rear two are a poor fit. I can see the underlying carpet in multiple areas around them; as if they were shrunk. I do not recommend the rear ones at all. * 2012 Jeep JK Rubicon

    Fit, snug, and solid

Fits perfectly and is held in place steadily. It does have a strong smell but that is starting to fade after about a week, and it was never so unpleasant. The material feels high quality, and the brims will maintain any minor accumulation of liquid or solid dirt, mud, snow melt, etc

    Rugged ridge floor mats

Purchased the Rugged Ridge Floor mats for my Jk a couple weeks ago. They cover the floor perfectly with a nice lip all the way around to hold in the junk. Easy to clean and far cheaper than weather tech and of the same quality.
