            2.5 Rubicon Express

Most complete kit out there would buy this again! The ride is great quality parts leaf springs are 5 leaf and very beefy. I looked at other places to buy this but came back to Extreme Terrain because the customer care is second to none and they know what there are talking about

            Awesome

I have had the lift now for 2 months. It was a bit bouncy in the beginning but has since settled in. I only use my YJ for off road play and this lift has been awesome. I did a 1 1/4" shackle lift at the same time and ended up getting almost 6 inches over the old worn out original suspension. Will absolutely buy Rubicon Express lifts in the future. Just bought a TJ that i will start building her soon.

            Exceeds Expectations

First lift kit I ever installed and it was pretty easy and straight forward. Ride quality tamed the beast. Went from saggy worn out suspension that still had the factory shocks in the front to an actual comfortable ride instead of what my wife compared to a radio flyer. No instructions were included in the kit, but I was able to find them easily online. The springs haven't fully settled out yet, BUT I ended up with 5.5" of lift as previous owner had extended shackles on them. Because of this I used a TeraFlex mega short sye and a new driveshaft instead of the t-case drop included with kit. Overall it took me approx 10 hours to install as I was mostly laying on the ground using all hand tools. only had to cut 1 bolt to remove the drivers side shock.

            Good suspension kit

This kit comes with most everything you need. Would be nice if it came with front extended brake hoses instead of hard line extensions. Had to cut frame bolts, shackle bolts came out. Nice quality

            Good enough

It’s not complete, no matter what they tell you. You’ll need to reuse your shackle and frame bolts, u-bolt plates, and shock absorber bolts. (On the other hand, snock absorber boots are included.) Likewise, frame-to-shackle bushings aren’t included nor are rear shock absorber relocation brackets. (Yes, you will need these.) Also to be considered - at least in my case - the sway bar disconnects sent with the kit are not correct for a YJ. I needed a completely different set. Other than that, it was pretty much a straight swap.

            Much Improved

This lift is a good solid quality product. I ended up with just over 3.5" of lift over my stock springs once everything settled out. The lift will fit 32" tires without rubbing but 33" rub. If running a SYE the supplied 2.5 degree shims do not rotate the rear pinion up enough to eliminate vibration. You will need to install 6 degree shims to get the pinion angle correct. Also you will need the rear shock relocation brackets (RE2005) so the shocks will clear the axle tube (do not run the shocks upside down to clear the axle, they are not designed to be ran inverted). This is the only thing that I think the kit is missing. This lift was really a straight forward installation. The difficulty of installation depends on whether or not your suspension bolts are rusted in place or not. My suspension is relatively rust free and I was able to complete the installation in 2.5 hours. I would also highly recommend not reinstalling the front track bar. The suspension will cycle much more efficiently without it along with providing a better ride.

            Bouncy Bounce Bounce

Had the suspension professionally installed and it is a real clean and beautiful setup except for the extreme bounce. I don't know which is worse. The original flat springs that rode like a tank or the new springs that bounce like nothing I have ever seen before. Perhaps it is the shocks?

            Rough ride

The lift created the angle of the rear shocks to be at a 45 degrees, which gave no room for the shocks to compress. Since this lift was specific to my year jeep the part of the Shock relocator should be required and included. I had to spend an additional $200 to have them purchased and installed .

Nice kit but needs a few additional parts

This kit is almost complete however if being installed on a YJ you need a dropped pitman arm and rear shock mount extensions on the rear end.

            Solid

The install has been pretty solid and strait forward so far. The only thing missing from the kit has been shock relocation brackets. The included shims roll the rear axle enough that the shock bodies hit the axle.

            Rubicon express 2.5 lift

I installed this lift kit this weekend. It went on without any issues, however I he old spring and track bar bolts didn't come out easily. It look, rides and handles excellent. I did end up removing the track bars altogether, it handles better without them. I would order this again.

            Great Kit For the Price!

Just finished installing this kit on my 95 YJ. Took longer than expected but only because the OEM material was a pain to remove. Most had to be torched or sawzawed off. Instructions could have been a bit more descriptive and/or included more pics or online videos. I ended up replacing all the hardware that wasn't included with Grade 8 material. supplied leaf springs are only painted black. not powder coated, so be careful not to bang around too much, or the paint chips off before installing. you will need a 1/2" drill bit for the front track bar link adapter. I actually installed 32x11.5 tires and it seems to clear nicely so far. A bit bouncy on highway, but that is to be expected with any lift kit and large tires, especially in an older jeep. Best Price i found for the material received. wish i would have thought to buy a steering stabilizer at the same time. I still give it 5 stars!

            Good lift

This kit included all the extras you end up needing like brake line extensions and sway bar discos. It went together without out a hitch. the only issue i ran into was drilling the rear spring perch out to fit the 9/16 pin on the RE spring pack. installed the T case lowering kit and the 2.5 degree shims and have no vibration from the drive line. The RE lift is a good outfit. I am well pleased with it.

I bought this because everything I needed was included. It all fit perfectly and bolted right up. It can be installed in a weekend or less, took me a couple days only because of the weather, Overall its a great option to upgrade that old stock suspension.
