Hi, I'm Kevin Tetz for extremeterrain.com. Raxiom has earned its reputation as an industry leader in on- and off-road lighting solutions. Well, now Raxiom offers us JK owners an in-dash navigation system that we don't have to cut up our dash for. It utilizes factory wiring harnesses and is loaded with features. This navigation system fits 2007 through 2015 JK Wranglers and has a six and a half inch motorized touch screen. It has satellite and FM radio capabilities as well as full Bluetooth features. The Raxiom in-dash navigation system comes with a great warranty and everything you need to install it, including brackets, all the harnesses that match your factory plugs, and a peel-and-stick metallic plate so you can install your nav antenna on non-metal surfaces. Heck, they even include a hole saw so you can install your backup camera into a plastic fascia. If you've got any questions about this system, feel free to give us a call or send us an email to extremeterrain.com. One of our Jeep experts will be happy to help. Big Bang For The Buck!

Great product and you get so much more compacted to much more exspensive stereo systems. Installation wasn't too diffacault considering the instruction are worthless. Mostly plug and play. Great stereo, navigation and quality back up camera. I suggest this to anyone wanting to ditch the stock stereo to a much better one. You'll be glad you did!

    OE style

I only give 3 stars because I did not get a raxiom unit but rather a Rosen unit. It is slow to start up and I can't seem to get the volume to completely turn down. When you use the touch screen it moves in when you touch it - seems cheap compared to my factory RBZ unit. I only bought this because I wanted navigation and it has worked well the few times I have used it. All I all it is an ok unit.

    Great Radio But Horrible Support

The Radio itself does everything that the OEM radio (430N) should have done, but much better. Navigation maps that you can actually see, better Iphone integration, Back-up camera, etc. So why one star? Good luck finding any information on how to install the darn thing. The ExtremeTerrain "Review and Installation" video is just a sales ad for the product. The vendor site is totally useless. Even finding a useful YouTube video is impossible. The included instructions are 7 lousy pictures of somebody installing one in a 2012 Patriot. Luckily we found a Jeep forum that had a better install write up, but even it didn't include a lot of details. It is indeed plug and play, but you end up with a bunch of wires, plugs and connections that you just shove back in the dash that aren't connected to anything. The lack of any instructions and support is totally unacceptable.

Good unit...takes more than 2-3 hours to install

Fantastic little unit and fits great. The reverse cam is great (a little grainy at night). If you want to use Sirius sat radio, you will need to buy the unit from Best Buy for $50. You can tap into the existing Sirius antenna but cannot use the existing box. Also, this is not merely a "one wrench" install. The fit is so snug that it is almost a struggle. The instructions that come with this unit are almost worthless (mine came with instructions for a navigation system while the unit I purchased contained far more than the nav system). While a pain to install, I am quite happy with the product and would recommend it to those who are looking to replace their stock stereo.

2 Months installed and happy trails so far

First off if you have the RHR model of the OEM unit with the GPS you do not need the extra harness. Once I figured that piece out and mapped a few wires install was a easy. The back-up camera is slick, I do not experience the delay issues mentioned in other reviews, fire up the JK, throw it in reverse and all good. The Bluetooth does take a minute to find my phone and connect but it connects and you can switch between devices easily. OEM unit was 50/50 at best for even connecting (iPhone mostly. Sounds much better then the OEM unit, GPS 10 times better. So far happy.

    Worked for about 1 year....

After the straight forward installation of the unit I was thrilled with the upgraded audio quality and performance. About half a year later the unit began restarting mid use but it wasn't too often maybe once every 2 weeks. Now it gets stuck with an endless boot loop and once I get it to start and play music it only lasts 2 minutes at most and restarts again with the endless boot loop. *I will update this review after I hear back from customer service and see what they can do to help but for now I am stuck with no stereo

Nav, camera and Bluetooth work well. The only issue I have is the satellite radio. Example: driving down a boulevard with trees on it and the satellite radio will cut out.... And I live in the metroplex where signals are good. I did not have this issue with my factory satellite Jeep radio. I am happy with all other features of the radio.

    Raxiom Navigation w/ Bluetooth

The item came with all required installation hardware, but no instructions. For an $850 unit I really expected instructions to be included in the box. Luckily there are Youtube videos to help with the install. That said, the install was super simple, and took about an hour including running wiring. The Good: It looks great in the Jeep. Hands-free calling is awesome Bluetooth works great for music The backup camera is awesome (didn't work with my bumper so I had to improvise-noted below) Change settings to have the backup camera come on automatically once the shifter is in reverse- Great option. The Bad: It takes the radio a 10-15 count to go from blank screen to Raxiom splash screen. It takes music a 5-10 count to begin playing after starting the vehicle. DVD player only works with Emergency brake on (Safety first, I know) People complain about road noise while talking on the phone through the bluetooth. I have a tubular aftermarket rear bumper, and didn't want to spring for the spare tire backup camera mount. I found a spare center cap for my spare tire, painted it to match my others, then drilled a hole and placed the camera on my spare. This isn't really bad, per say, but I can't see my ball hitch - which is really why I wanted a backup camera in the first place. That said, I can now see behind me while backing. Overall, the unit looks great. No noticeable improvements to the sound quality (non premium speaker set-up), but the backup camera is nice, and bluetooth is really great coming from a bottom of the line basic factory head unit.

    Great OE Look and Function

I bought this for the navigation and back-up camera features. It was important to me that it look like OE. I had the unit professionally installed, and it has worked perfectly since day one. I would strongly recommend that you also get the rear tire camera mount (sold separately), as it provides a great viewpoint for the back-up camera.

    Navigation will travel

What a great experience!!! I ordered this navigation for my daughters birthday. I thought I had placed the order, but after two weeks it had not come. I went back online and realized that I did not Place the order I requested the over night shipping and woke up to the product on my doorstep. My daughter is thrilled with the quality. The installer said it was one of the nicest systems he's seen. Very happy. Will order from them again and again

    Seemless integration, subpar quality

Installation took time, but wasn't bad at all. This thing integrates seamlessly, but there are quality issues. It randomly shuts off, the NAV screen freezes, dated maps, and the back-up camera quit working. It does everything, but the menu is a little clunky. I can't focus on customer service which is good because Raxiom will not even return my emails.

    Year into it..

First of extreme terrain is great to deal with, very responsive and customer service oriented. The unit was purchased last may (2016) to replace the factory 130 unit. Fit and finish is great, installation instructions are ok, but if you are technically savvy, you will figure it out. My favorite part of the radio is back up camera. That alone is worth an extra star, if it wasn't for the camera, I would have rated this radio as two stars. Several reasons for that. 1 - it is extremely slow. Not sure if the hardware is outdated, it shouldn't take 35 seconds to reconnect to Bluetooth after starting your motor. 2 - software is glitchy, needs better QA as things like switching back and forth between pandora and nav pauses playback. 3 - too many adjustments needed to set it up properly. Various input volumes for Bluetooth, phone, auxiliary, USB etc can be very frustrating to dial in correctly. 4 - steering wheel control programming is not how I would have configured it. 5 - no equalizer, at that price I wouldn't mind being able to adjust individual frequencies myself. Now positives: 1 - ultimately extensibility with amps, signal processors, etc. remote turn off delay to prevent the thump. 2 - back up camera is great, make sure to get the mounting brackets. 3 - sound quality is pretty good when it's playing. :) Conclusion - would I buy this again, the answer is no. I think there are better options from alpine and pioneer with much better performance and hardware. I just ordered brand new rubicon and opted in for 430N unit and alpine audio to try upgraded factory unit. If that doesn't work, I will be selling the factory unit and replacing with above mentioned brands.

Okay Radio - not working as expected

I was very excited to get this radio after going without Satellite for a year and now having a built in navigation system and added backup camera. I read all the reviews and was happy with my decision. However, since I received the radio, I keep having problems. The navigation system worked for 1 day and since then, it will not go past the message screen when I click navigation. The touch screen just will not let me press accept and get into the navigation. We have tried it in every scenario with the car parked, in neutral, moving etc but it will not work. On the other hand, the menu for Satellite is extremely touchy and very hard to touch the correct channel in the list. I have tried to program the satellite stations and they will not stay in the system. It keeps reverting back to the default preview button and blank buttons. I'm not sure if there is something wrong with the radio, but I am disappointed in this purchase. I did have it professionally installed and they confirmed it was installed correctly.
