What rim offset would be needed for a set of 38 x 15.5 x 18 Nitto Mud Grapplers what lift height gear ratio would work best on a 2016 JKU for moderate off roading? THANKS

    • For a 38x15.5R18 NITTO Mud Grappler Tire you would need a wheel that is 11-14" wide, with 4" of backspacing or less to make sure the wheel sits out far enough to prevent rubbing. Offset can vary based on the size width 18" wheel you choose to mount the wheel to. Backspacing is the best measurement to use in this case. With your JKU we would suggest atleast a 5" lift or a 4" lift with flat fenders and larger bumpstops to reduce the chance of rubbing while off roading. The gear ratio would depend on what you plan to do with your Jeep but we suggest 4.56s or 4.88s for daily driving and moderate trail use.

if i have stock 3.07 gears will i be fine running the 33/12.5r15?

    • You can run 3.07 gears on 33 inch tires but you'll definitely notice a loss of power. We would recommend a gear upgrade to 3.73s or higher.

For the 38x15.50x15 size of these tires how wide of rims would you need to mount?

    • Thank you for your question! I would recommend a 12" or 14" wide wheel for a 15.50" wide tire.

      Nitro mud grappler

Have a 2 door soft top and the tires are not super loud. Can still use phone with or w/o Bluetooth. They fit great without a lift but, even better with a 2 1/2” lift. Traction is great in both wet and dry conditions. Would recommend.

      Great MT Tires

Absolutely love these tires, fell in love the second I ever saw them. Highly recommend haven't slipped traction once. Road noise kind of sounds like an airplane, it's not that loud honestly. I do have an exhaust and soft top and it's not overpowering either of those for sure. Wouldn't go with another brand.

      Killer Tires

Very impressive tire, great traction in the mud in South Florida. Very happy with them so far, a little noise on the street, but they turn some heads. Cost a little more but well worth the extra money!!!

these tires are better in person than I expected. they are a perfect fit. I've already made up my mind that I will buy another set when these wear out. Very aggressive but excellent for everyday road use.

      Great tire

these Nitto Mud Grapplers are better than I had hoped. They look awesome and are a perfect fit and look even without any lift. The spare 33'' tire fits fine on rack with the stock rear bumper. Definitely will buy again.

      great looks and performance

The looks of these tires are like no others. I have 35s. I read a bunch of reviews about the loud road noise and terrible wear before I bought these. The tires are noisy, but I like the rumble. I rotate every 3k and haven't had a problem with wear (had an alignment after lift install to be sure). Overall, I would purchase these again, since most other tires I see don't look as good to me. Off road, they seem to do what I need of them,

      Best tires I have owned

These beefy tires look great on any wrangler. I upgraded to these bad boys as I was more frequently going off road and they perform excellent I couldn't be anymore happy with them. They are alittle noisy when you are on road but it's not a big deal considering how good they look. If you are looking for a quality tire that can perform on and off-road this is the tire for you!

      Great Tires

These tires look great on my Jeep. Not only bo these tires look good but they also have great performance. The only downside is that they are quite noisy at high speeds, but this can be expected from all-terrain tires such as these. Overall I would highly recommend these tires and will be buying them again.

I went from pro comp to these babies and i just cant explain how much i love these. the thicker tires make jeep look beefy and the tread pattern ... oh the tread pattern. So many compliments just on these tires alone . Amazing on and off the road. Only have had them for a month but im in love with these tires.

      Mean looking Tire

I bought my jeep about a month and some change ago with these on board. The tread wears evenly and slowly. But this tire was meant to show how mean it can be off road. You will see mud fly behind you as you take on that swamp, or mud pit ahead of you. Have fun, these are worth it
