Hey, what's up, guys. I'm Ryan from ExtremeTerrain, and today I'm here with the DV8 Off-Road FS-6 Steel Mid Width Front Bumper, fitting your 2018 and up Wrangler JL. This is going to be for the off-roading enthusiast that is looking for an affordable option that's going to gain them the protection and clearance that they need to increase the capability of their Wrangler. This is perfect for you weekend warriors that are looking for an easy bolt-on with some additional functionality that you're not going to get out of that stock bumper. The mid-width bumper is going to give you a lot more clearance than a standard-width bumper and its high clearance design with tapered ends is going to give you better approach angles which is really going to come in handy on those trails. This bumper is made from heavy-duty steel tubing and plating and is finished off with an aggressive black powder coating. As far as the installation goes on a JL, it may require you to modify your frame rails in some way. Now, if you're looking for a hassle-free installation, DV8 offers an adapter bracket and you can find that on our product page. Now, this bumper is a very affordable bumper when compared to other options on the site and it sets itself apart from the rest. At just around $370, I think this is a great option to go with, and not only that, it comes with a three-year warranty. As far as installation goes, I'm going to give this a one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter as you can get this thing installed in about two hours just using basic hand tools. Now with that being said, let's hop into the install.Tools required for this install: 19-millimeter socket, 18-millimeter socket, 16-millimeter socket, flathead screwdriver, 8-millimeter socket, 3/8 drive extension, 1/4-inch ratchet, 3/8 drive ratchet, 3/8 drive impact. So, the first thing, of course, is to get that front bumper off, so we're gonna start with the splash shield underneath. You need a flathead screwdriver and an 8-millimeter socket, so we're gonna crawl underneath and start with that. So we're gonna have a series of push pins across the front where the splash shield connects to the bumper. Can use a flathead screwdriver just to pry up on that center section, and that's gonna allow you to get that clip out. So next you're gonna have two screws. You're gonna have one on each side. We're gonna need to use an 8-millimeter socket to get those screws out. Once you get that last screw out you're ready to remove your splash shield. The next thing we're gonna do is take this bracket off down here. You're gonna have two bolts in it. We're gonna use a 16-millimeter socket, take that off. Once you get the bolts out, you can slide this up. And slide it up and off. Next thing we're gonna do is take this end panel off. This is covering our fog lights. This isn't a necessary step to get this bumper removed, but we're gonna remove it so you can get a better look at the nuts that we're taking off on the frame rail. So to do this, we're gonna use a flathead screwdriver, we're gonna take these push pins out. Now depending on your model, you may have a different bumper end, and this might have screws in it that you'll need a 7-millimeter socket for.The next thing we're gonna do is unplug our fog light harness at our frame rail on the passenger side. What we're gonna do is press this little tab in here on the side of it, and that's gonna allow us to disconnect our fog lights. After we do that we're gonna unbolt our bumper. So you're gonna have eight nuts, four on each frame rail. We're gonna use an 18-millimeter socket to get all those out. So on this side, we already have our plastic shield off so we're just gonna go ahead and get these nuts off. So after that, we're gonna go back up top and we're gonna take these last two push pins out. You're gonna have one on top of each frame rail. Same thing, we're gonna use a flathead screwdriver to take these out, pry up on the center, and that's gonna allow you to pull the whole thing out. After that, you're ready to take your bumper off. And one of the nice things about this bumper is it already comes with D-rings installed. There's not really any other assembly besides bolting it onto the Jeep. But before we get it installed I wanna take a moment just to compare it to the stock one, point out some of those key differences and also the upgrades you're gonna get with this aftermarket bumper. This bumper is made of heavy-duty steel plating and tubing, so it's already a lot stronger than that factory plastic one and it's gonna add a ton of strength and protection to the front of your Jeep. Now, it's a little shorter in width than the factory one, so that's gonna clear up those wheel wells a little bit, give you a little bit better of an approach angle, which is really gonna help on those trails when you're trying to drive that wheel up onto an obstacle. Now we are ditching our factory bumper with those factory fog lights, and while this bumper doesn't exactly come with fog lights, it does have tabs up here that you can mount additional lighting.Next thing I wanna point out is this over-rider hoop. This is something that you don't have on your factory bumper. It's something that you can't attach on in the factory bumper. This over-rider hoop is a double over-rider hoop, and that is going to add a ton of protection to the front end as well. It's gonna push any brush or stuff that you may come across on the trails out of the way and it's gonna keep that grille safe. Now this bumper, unlike the factory bumper, has a winch mount. This winch mount is a low rise winch mount, so it's gonna sit that winch a little lower, and it's gonna keep that airflow up. So it's not gonna reduce any airflow, which is gonna be great for whether you're driving down the road or you're hitting those trails. It's also a great recovery point. You can mount a variety of winches, up to a 12,000-pound winch, and it also has D-rings on it. These D-rings are another great recovery point. A lot of people like to drive around solo or go in groups. Either way, you can be pulled or pull someone out. Now, this whole thing is coated in aggressive textured black powder coating, which is gonna add to that aggressive off-road styling. It's also gonna protect your investment from the elements. Now, this whole thing is really gonna change up the look of your Jeep. It's gonna separate you from the rest of the herd and all those stock guys out there. Now with that being said, let's show you how this gets installed and what it looks like on the Jeep.So at this point in time, we are ready to install this bumper. Now I would recommend staging your hardware, getting that ready. Also, this item is kinda big and awkward, so I would recommend grabbing a friend. I'm gonna get Tony to help me out. Here we go.Once you get the bumper on, we're gonna put our hardware on the backside, so each one of these studs is going to get a flat washer, a lock washer, and a nut. So we're gonna do the same thing for the other outside. Flat washers, lock washers and nuts. Now for the inside of the frame rails, the top hole is going to get a bolt. So the same thing. We're gonna do a lock washer up against the head of the bolt and a flat washer. Same thing for the bottom, flat washer, lock washer, and a nut. And we'll do the same thing on the other inside. Now, after you get all that hardware installed, we can go around and tighten everything up. Bolt heads are gonna use an 18-millimeter and the nuts are gonna use a 19-millimeter.So that's gonna wrap up my review and install. For more videos like this, check us out at extremeterrain.com.
