Questions & Answers (1)

1 Top Rated Question

I want to know if this is disk brake or drum brake or will it work for both? I do not want to order it and find it will not fit with disk brakes. I have been told conflicting info as some say it is drum only and some say it will work for both. Some sites say the drum brakes use a different axle retaining plate than the disk brakes. Others say they are the same.

  • This Dana Spicer Passenger Side Rear Axle Shaft is for drum brakes only.

    Great shaft, but poor pre-assembly...

This is a great shaft, and a complete swap out. That is unless the bearing retainer isn't pressed onto the shaft correctly. Mine had 3/8" of play in it when I installed it, which would have led to me losing differential fluid between the seal and the axle housing. Of course, you can't figure this out until you have the old one out, and the new one in. Now I have to take it to a machine shop to get the retainer pressed on to the proper position. What a waste of time.

Didn't seal leaked out all the oil

Went in loose and didn't seal up so it leaked out all the gear oil and now my rear end is making some crunching sounds. Took forever to ship and arrive. Would recommend spending a little more cash for a better product

    fully assembled, great

Axle came fully assembled. This made the installation a breeze. Not to mention cost savings of not having to go to a machine shop to have axle assembled prior to installation. Quality parts not even available from Jeep.
