Review from Bushwacker 6 in. Front Pocket Flares (97-06 Wrangler TJ)

Get the fit right Mr Wacker!

I ordered a pair for the rear because one was damaged. A pair because you cannot get a single. Oops, need the front now because they no longer come in smooth finish to match the front. Ordered front. No way possible to get the side lights installed in the front without major cutting of the plastic material. Broke one trying, that's another $30. Also, already had a bolt pull through because the mold where the screws enter is very thin. Had a truck barley touch it and it popped through. We were both struck by how thin the material was. I've added rubber washers to the ends of each to try to prevent this. Did I mention it took 10 weeks to get the first set and another 12 to get the second set?? seems like they take orders to make the minimum order quantity before making them. I've recommended to Extreme Terrain to drop this manufacturer. Would I buy again? No way.

    Better than expected.

I found a very clean 2006 X last year, but the previous owner had installed 31x10.50s which rubbed badly while turning. So, I upgraded to the Mammoth wheels and correct offset, and then had to comply with NH inspection laws. I purchased these flares after finding that the Rubicon style original flares were still too narrow. I was nervous about them being too wide and bulky looking, but was pleasantly surprised at how good they look and the perfect width. Installation was straightforward and I would definitely recommend them for their fit and quality.

    Great flares

Installed these pocket style flares to replace my stock Sahara's flares. They TPO plastic material they are made of is tough with a little flexibility which is good. I dropped them a few times when painting them to match the color of my jeep and they scratched a little but they didnt crack and I dont worry about them breaking at all. The paint adhered very well and All the holes lined up correctly with my jeep. I gave 4 stars for fit because there were a couple of close calls where I needed to shave off a mm of plastic here and there. But in the end, they look great and have no doubt they will last many years.

    Sturdy and protective

This is a pretty well designed accessory. Except for unclean cuts in some holes (dull bit) and that no hardware comes with or for the bottom fender pieces, everything went together pretty well.

Review from Bushwacker 6 in. Front Pocket Flares (97-06 Wrangler TJ)

    Great Look Easy Install

The screws are better than my previous Flares. After about 5 years, strong wind blew them off on Interstate 5. I"m hoping to get more time out of these. You may need a drill to make the hole bigger in the flare for the blinker fastener-rod. So, If you have a 3/8 drill, you are good to go.

    Quality control is lacking

I bought this product and for being the most expensive fender flair out there could be better quality control First on my new set of flairs where there was some factory drilling excess plastic was left in place If there is quality control from this company they took the day off So now I have to go around all piece and carefully remove excess plastic plus there is a couple corners missing plastic altogether
