    Will this Auburn Ected Dana 44 3.92 locker fit in the stock rear D44 carrier/housing on a 2005 TJ Unlimited (LJ)? It comes with the 3.73 stock and planning to go up to 5.13 or 5.38, but I'm concerned that lockers won't fit the stock carrier. Thanks!

    I'm building a 2013 Wrangler Sport and installing 4.88 gears. I first bought an Auburn LSD diff for Dana 44 3.92 and up carrier and it didn't fit. I notice you don't list this model for JK. Do you offer something comparable to this that will fit my need?

    • This Auburn Gear Ected Max-Locker Differential is rated for 3.73 & Lower Gear Ratio, meaning it would not be compatible with your JK model and 4.88 gears. We offer the Auburn Gear Pro Series Limited Slip here: for 3.92 gears and up that should work with your sport model!

    Will this fit a 2004 TJ wrangler? Columbia edition. Is there a switch kit for it or does it come with one?

    • The Auburn Gear Ected Max-Locker Differential - Dana 44 - 30 Spline - 3.92 & Higher Gear Ratio would not fit the 2004 Columbia edition. That particular Jeep has a Dana 35 instead of the Dana 44.

      More than i expected

      I've been a shade tree mechanic for 30 plus years but was my first locker install, it was a bit of a challenge but with the help of a local machine shop, I was good to go. The best part of this locker is the limited slip, i seldom need to lock in because of the great traction it supplies all the time. I've been running it for 2 years now, still works perfect

      Not too bad of install

      Shipping was prompt and the instructions were decent. I was a mechanic years ago so installing wasn't a problem and the fit and end results were good. Overall this was a easy job but just a few things: Extreme Terrain suggested synthetic gear oil and Auburn Gear instructions say the unit wasn't designed to use synthetic oil. Also the bearing/cup part numbers told to use from Auburn were not correct. I did have to drill out the ring gear bolt holes on the carrier to accommodate the 1/2" bolts used for the ring gear. Still the fit used was great I have almost the exact backlash after the install as the factory before. Thanks

      Auburn electric Locker

      Great and awesome for the first three year but once the clutch Locker was wore out the electric Locker didn't work anymore it had too much slack in it to stay engaged so now when I Engage The Locker it pops and let's go

      1/4 " differences from the factory locker and none of ur people could tell me y or wat to do or wat I need to get so ya it is junk waist of an install kit and 6 hours of Tim fighting with the junk

      went in like the instruction said , I took my time with the install. But no surprise's, I'm happy , work first time .. engage and disengage just fine . took it in some deep ditches pulled me out fine, climb over logs , up and over boulder pile .. Now well test it over time see how it hold up ...

      Auburn E-Locker

      I think it's an excellent product. I have used it to climb and descend many a Desert trail. Crawled through many a sandy wash and never been stuck ( except once when I got a large boulder wedged under the front end of my Jeep ) while going through a rocky ravine. Still, I was able to back up and off the boulder. Not possible if I had not had the Auburn E-Locker. I recommend it for any one who is looking to upgrade their off road vehicle.
