... READ MOREThe modern gas-powered engine has dozens of different chips that monitor, analyze, and adjust performance. Arguably the most important of these sensors is the coolant sensor because it uses the data it collects to regulate a multitude of functions. These integral parts work in tandem with control units, which are responsible for sending the main computer in your motor, the engine control unit (ECU), the information it complies. If there is a problem, the ECU will correct it on its own or let the driver know that something is wrong. For example, you might see a warning signal that indicates you are running low on fuel.
