Bigger, taller wheels and tires are absolutely essential for aggressive off-roading activities. But running oversize tires comes with a price. The higher off the ground a vehicle is, the more likely it is to tip or roll over. This goes double when you attempt to traverse rough, uneven terrain. Dune bashing and rock crawling are two of the most extreme forms of off-roading, since vehicles must struggle to surmount natural obstacles that affect their equilibrium. It is not at all uncommon for a Jeep YJ to rollover whilst trying to clamber over rocks or boulders. It is for this reason that all serious off-roaders should install Jeep YJ roll bars and cages that will protect passengers if their vehicles tip over.
