Smittybilt Security Stereo Floor Console; Spice Denim (76-95 Jeep CJ5, CJ7 & Wrangler YJ)

Construction. This Smittybilt stereo console is built out of welded 16 gauge steel for toughness and security. Each compartment is fitted with a lock. The body of the console is finished with black powder coated paint. The padded armrest is covered in Spice denim, which resists wear but has a pleasing texture. Quality and durability are among the traits that Smittybilt seeks to give all its products.

Specs. The console includes spaces for general storage (towards the rear) and placement of a stereo system, CD player, CB radio, or radar detector (towards the front). It is meant to be used with 1976-1995 Jeep CJ5, CJ7 and Wrangler YJ Models. The convenient armrest gives the driver or passenger a spot to rest their elbow while driving, and features a denim-covered pad. Both storage compartments are lockable with included keys. The cup holders are adjustable and can hold both small and large beverage containers safely, with no risk of spilling. This item measures 15 inches tall by 9 inches wide by 27 inches long.

Application. The Smittybilt console is fitted directly behind the gearshift, and is fastened in place with three bolts and a mounting bracket. The bracket is attached first, then holes are marked and drilled through the Jeep's floorboards with a 5/16 inch bit. Fitment of the console involves cutting small pieces of carpet away and penetrating the floor with a drill. The bolts should not be over tightened so as not to damage the floor metal.
