Hey guys, so today I'm here with the Rugged Ridge Quick Release Round Mirrors fitting all 1997 to 2018 TJ and JK Wranglers. So taking the doors off your Jeep is one of the best features that it has. However, when doing so, you are removing your mirrors and removing a lot of that visibility. A quick release setup like this going to be one of your easiest solutions to gaining some of that visibility back, and this option by Rugged Ridge is going to be one of your most affordable ways to do so.The kit's going to include a bracket that mounts up to the A-pillar as well as the mirror itself and right in the middle those are going to be attached with a quick release knob. This is gonna make it a no-tool install whenever you have to attach your mirrors when the doors are off. Perfect for the Jeep owner who's looking for a hassle-free design when it comes to extra visibility for the trail. Now, they're also going to hold up very well considering they're made of a durable steel construction and have a black powder coat finish on top, protecting that steel underneath but also giving you a very sleek look to your mirror setup. Not to mention, these are going to be fully adjustable for the best visibility considering you can adjust them down at the base here and also up at the top of the mirror with a ball and socket style setup. Now, again these are gonna be one of your most affordable options for trail mirrors at roughly $20. So in comparison to some other quick releases options, there will be choices with longer arms that will offer a little bit more visibility if you do need that. And then there will be options that will have a rectangular design instead of a round design like this. Now, when it comes to other mirror solutions on the page, you'll usually see that there are also relocation brackets for your factory mirror or they will be hinge-mounted options that will mount to the upper hinge on your Wrangler. Now those are going to have their own benefits, however, if you're not looking to relocate your factory mirror, especially if you have a powered or heated setup or you're looking to keep this hinge open if you wanna mount up a half door or a tube door, then this is going to be right up your alley. And especially for $20, you really can't beat that. So, install's going to be very easy at a one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter. You'll only need a couple of basic hand tools to get the job done. So, speaking of that install, let's jump into that now. Tools that I used for my install were an impact wrench, T40 Torx socket, and a 12 millimeter socket. To kick off this install, I am going to go ahead and take off the door because that's how we usually will be using these mirrors. So, in order to do that you'll just need to unplug the wiring harness and take out the two T40 Torx bolts that are holding on the door on the hinges. Now, we don't have these in our Jeep, so I'm gonna go ahead and take off the door. What we can do next is remove the two T40 Torx bolts right up at the top of our A-pillar. I'm gonna be using a T40 Torx socket and my impact wrench. So, what we can do next is take our mount and unthread this knob and we can also take off the actual mount for our mirror arm. Then we can take that mount, making sure that the welded nut is facing the bottom and take the new T40 Torx bolts that were provided by Rugged Ridge as well as the plastic washers and thread those on to our A-pillar. We can tighten those back up with that same T40 Torx. What we can do now is take our inner mount and our arm and place the arm in the inner mount, making sure that the holes are lining up. We can take our provided knob, thread that through, and into the welded nut down at the bottom here. And this will act as a clamp and keep the arm in place. Now this is actually how you are going to remove your mirrors when you don't need them. You can keep this bracket on and then you can just take the knob off and remove the mirror as a whole. You also will be able to adjust this in and out. There is gonna be a little ribbed surface to make sure that it's staying in place. Now we can take our provided mirror. It's gonna have a bolt, lock washer, and flat washer pre-installed in the back of the mirror. I'm gonna take a 12 millimeter socket and just loosen that up. Once that's off of there, we can line this up with our mirror arm and then just install this through the arm. Then we can tighten that back up with the same 12 millimeter socket, adjust our mirror how we need to. And then we can repeat that process on the other side and we'll be all set to go.So that's gonna wrap it up for my review and install. Make sure you like and subscribe.
