    Description

Reinforced for Ultimate Road Performance. The Nitto Terra Grappler G2 tire offers unmatched versatility both on the highway and up the mountain. The G2's new design gives the tread more grip on the road and more readiness across any terrain. The full-depth sipes and dual sidewall design give the tire more functionality as well as an advancing look.

All-Terrain Agility. The Nitto Terra Grappler G2 tire offers maximum performance through reinforced coupling joints that are reinforced with staggered shoulder lugs that offer improved tread block rigidity. Your light truck will handle the curves as well as the landscape. The variable pitch tread blocks give the tire quieter contact with the road. This cuts down on noise when traveling at faster speeds.

5 Year Warranty. This Nitto Tire comes with a 5-year warranty from the date of purchase. Some limitations do apply. Please see the Full Nitto Warranty disclosure for details.

Application. This Nitto Terra Grappler G2 285/70-17 Tire is designed to fit all 1987-2023 Jeep Wrangler YJ, TJ and JK models equipped with 17 inch wheels that are 7.5 to 9.5 inches in width.

What is the best gear ratio to run for larger tires? When you increase the diameter of your tires, your vehicle's engine has to work harder to turn them. Naturally, this will lead to increased fuel consumption and reduced performance. So, when upgrading to a set of larger tires you should re-gear your rig to regain this lost acceleration, performance and fuel economy.

Find your original tire size and gear ratio using the chart listed below, the intersection should be your approximate RPMs at 65 MPH. Then find your new tire size and follow it across to the closest RPM to your original tires, this will be your gear ratio choice.

This chart is based on driving at 65 MPH with a 1:1 gear ratio and a manual transmission in 4th gear. Please note if your vehicle is equipped with an automatic transmission your RPMs will be higher due to normal transmission and the torque converter slippage. In overdrive your RPMs will be approximately 15% to 30% less than indicated.
